Finding the right sunscreen to benefit my skin and not just in the summer , but all year long has been a struggle. I’m picky when it comes to the sunscreen I put on.

When it is about sunscreen, I require sun protection. I favor mineral-based sunscreen, and don’t want sunscreen that is a hindrance to my makeup. I also don’t want the sunscreen to irritate my skin. That’s of the utmost importance to me. This is not an enormous task.

I am a big fan of medical-grade skincare products so it’s no surprise that I’m an avid user of medical-grade sunscreen. In the past, I discovered the perfect medical-grade sunscreen combination that is perfect for me and my skin. And when I refer to combo, I mean that in the most efficient way.

You see, when I am going for a natural or everyday makeup-free appearance, I prefer the Alastin HydraTint Professional Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36. It’s a light, all-mineral sunscreen that provides broad spectrum protection. It hydrates the skin and protects it from harmful UVAas well as UVB rayons, while also giving a soft, glow.

When I’ve been in the outdoors this summer, I’ve paired Alastin HydraTint with Alastin SilkSHIELD All Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30. This combo has worked for me throughout the day at the pool and beach regardless of how long I’ve sat out in sun. I always wear a huge sun hat and sunglasses, and stay under an umbrella as often as I can in the event that I’m not washing my face in the pool or ocean the combination will protect my skin all day long.

Alastin SilkSHIELD All Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 is made with Alastin’s exclusive Tri-Hex technology. It offers powerful and gentle protection the transparent sunscreens peptide blend provides anti-aging benefits that last long after sunset.

I am thrilled I have come across this combination. I can pump two pumps of HydraTint and pour about the size of a nickel of the SilkSHIELD onto my hand and mix them together. The combination of both sunscreens is soft and silky. I apply this blend on my face, neck, and décolleté. Like I mentioned earlier, as long as I’m not getting into the pool or washing it off, it will last for me and helps protect my skin from sun damage throughout the day.
